On 3rd of october, which was the day of the mooncake festival, a family of 5 was taking a walk down a familar path after just celebrated the festival was stung by numerous wasp and was sent to the hospital immediately. Three children of 3 yrs old, 6 yrs old and 8 yrs old followed their mum (29) and their uncle (mum's younger brother, 11) stung by numerous wasp was in critical condition when sent to the hospital.
The younger two children died after couple of treatments in the hospital. The 11 yr old child is alive and recovering, this was because he ran away after immediately attacked by the wasps. The 8 yr old child died today. Leaving their mum in comatose. The youngest child, after being stung by the wasps stood on the spot and was crying. The mother who was running away immediately turned back to safe her child. The picture above was the picture of the youngest child.
The father of the children fainted after hearing the news which his last surviving child died. The now recoveing 11yr old would still have memories of this incident haunt him every mooncake festival. A festival which young children should be carrying lanterns and eating mooncakes, instead of killed by wasps. It was rumoured that the wasp nests (there were more then one nest at that location) was reported to officials before the incident but looked pass because "they haven't stung anyone yet". Also, couple of naughty kids around the area threw stones at the nest which resulted in angry wasps. Sadly, the wasps took their revenge on the wrong people...
That really made me think, would it been different if the people attacked were malay? Would this news affect the whole of malaysia instead of JUST east malaysia if the victims were malays? Call me paranoid or prejudice that i think like this... But i just couldn't help thinking things this way... sigh... Maybe i think too much...
